1Photo/1Voice

Wouldn’t it be amazing if students around the world could be united through the power of photography and education? Project Picture Day aims to do that, one school portrait at a time…

WHAT IS IT?

1Photo/1Voice is an annual fundraising initiative that embodies students helping students, schools helping schools, and incorporates the power of asking. The campaign encourages high school students who are set to get their school portrait taken to bring/donate one dollar ($1), so a student in a developing country can receive one too.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each teacher during homeroom or 3rd period (or the designated period used for loudspeaker announcements) will be asked to collect $1 donations from their students, in honor of school portrait day/week. Faculty will be provided with videos to educate students towards the cause. Teachers from each class will be asked to collect the donations and then deliver the funds to the student advisor or the advisor’s department office. The phase should be accompanied by loudspeaker announcements reminding students/teachers during the period of $1 collection

WHY DO IT THIS WAY?

Project Picture Day and the 1Photo/1Voice initiative embodies students helping students and schools helping schools. We want to incorporate ‘the power of asking’ back in to nonprofit organizations and fundraising initiatives that directly correlate to students making a difference.

We believe having a student advisor integrated within each phase of this campaign is a key element to ensure it works smoothly and efficiently.
